These students are here for two weeks, we welcomed everyone including all our new families at a Powhiri we could all be proud of!!! The students are all placed in various classrooms, their goal is to practice and learn more English, our goal to work and learn from students from another culture!!!

Ag Day – Friday 25 October 2024 – Update # 5 – A big thank you to everyone for the respect of the animals in the daycare pen at school. It is so lovely to be able to have our Ag Day pets here at school but it is a privilege to be able to do so. Please remember to clean your feeding bottles in the kitchen after feeding and to clean up the kitchen behind you.
Only the owner/handler of the Ag Day pet is allowed in the pen to collect their animals for feeding. Keep up the good work team!
If you are wanting a lamb or a goat but cannot source one, please contact me asap as I have several contacts and may be able to help you. Just email me at [email protected]
Also if you have any questions or are unsure on the rules or how it all works just come in and see me at school (I am in the Puriri classroom) or email me. Here is the link to the updated Wainui School Ag day rules. In here it explains what to expect in the animal ring, what the handler and animals need to do and what they will be judged for.
Can you please fill in the animal registration form in asap, so I can gauge the numbers of animals coming to Ag day. Here is the link to the Animal Registration form. This will remain open until the end of term 3.
Ag Day Chicks Pick-Up – The one-day old chicks will be here for collection TOMORROW Wednesday 7th August from 2.30pm in the staffroom. Remember to bring a suitable box to take them home in eg: a shoe box with bedding. They will need to be kept warm on your trip home. Click the link for information on how to care for your chick Caring for Ag day chickens
