FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Kia ora Koutou,
The annual MasterChef competition has begun!! It has become so big over the years with so many children wanting to participate. This year we have separated all the competitions to ensure we can manage!! The year 8 councillors love to organise this event, this year Hamish Fincham and Phoenix Sweetman-Jones are leading this event. They all enjoyed being the judges last Friday with the help of our Friday caretaker Ben Meikle!!!
This Friday we have the year 3-4 competition they are all making omelettes!

The facilities, the activities both night and day, the camp instructors and even the weather were all great!!!
Professional Development in the Writers Toolbox – Teachers in the year 3-8 classes all participated in further professional development in the Writers Toolbox our new structured writing programme. We are really pleased with the motivation and engagement levels of the students with this programme. The programme is enabling our students to receive feedback on their writing, build skills at their level, challenge their writing skills, complete daily writing challenges that they are all motivated to do. We are excited at the potential of the programme to raise the level of writing across the school. Your child can show you more of what they are doing by logging on at home. I have included a link for home use here.
