WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING

Board Elections – Thank you to all eight candidates; Josh Aperahama, Greg Bailey, Corey Baxter, Blake Callaghan, Tim Carr, Matt Jones, Sarah McCathie and Laura Watt, who have put their names forward to be on the School Board. Our school needs you all, this is a very heartening and a great outcome for our school!! But we can only sadly have 4 of you!! Thank you to our Returning Officer Mel Ludwig who has now distributed all the voting papers. So please now vote!! There is a Ballot Box in the office for you to drop your voting paper into. Votes must be delivered before 4pm on 16th December 2024. If posting, please send as early as possible as it must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 5 days after the date of the election. I look forward to having a new Board and really thank each and every one of you for putting your name forward.

Takahe Team Camp – I have heard nothing but the words “amazing, awesome, fun and brilliant”!! Camp was a big success this year at a new camp for our school in Mangawhai, Moirs Camp. The weather was awesome at the beginning of the week, some of the photos and video looked like a tropical island and was a bit wet at the latter end of the camp!! Spirits were never disheartened!!

Big thank you to Mr Wotton for all the planning and organisation of this camp and teachers Mrs Blackburn and Miss Jenkins for going to camp and being such a great support. To all the parents that went as helpers, a huge thank you to you, we cannot do camp without you!!! Thank you to Joseph Andrell, Stephen Austen, Rachelle Croft, Marcus Dixon, Kate Doherty, Garry Elliot, Jenni Fincham, Marisia Inger, Keagan Lehmann, Damian Lodge, Steve Macer, Diana Maties, Cindy McDonald, Andrea Mexted, and Steve Oswald.

THIS WEEK

. .

Athletics – This week is all about Athletics, Run, Jump, Throw!! In Athletics there is usually an event for everyone, some of us can throw, some of us just love jumping over the bar or as far as we can, others of us love running!!!

Tuesday 19th November is the year 5-8 Athletics and Wednesday 2oth November is the year 3&4 Athletics. The juniors is not until 3rd December and is combined with their end of year picnic.

Come and join us, we love an audience and support at our Sports Days!

Whole School Assembly – This is led and featuring Pukeko Team this Friday 22nd November at 2pm. At this Assembly we will celebrate the value of Relational in our certificates and the last Hellyer Cups for the juniors will be awarded.

COMING UP

End of year events, please check the dates we have in this newsletter and join us as at the end of the year. We love to celebrate with our annual events and Assembly’s.

FINALLY

PTA Fundraising – Wow, what an amazing outcome!!! $ 16,500 total raised from Ag Day adds to our total fundraising this year of $57,000. Our budget we set was 50,000, we have surpassed the total and still have one more event to come – Christmas in the Country. Raising these funds ensures our school is financially in a good place but able to achieve some of the dreams and wishes we have. Huge thank you to Leslie Ann and the growing team of the PTA – come and join them and contribute to making our school even better!! We are all thrilled!!!

Ka kite ano,

Gillian Bray
