FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Kia ora Koutou,

What a roller coast week we have all had!! Now we are all pleased to say we are back to  COVID-19 Level 1 operations, which for us at school means we can have full school events, we all return to school and we continue with camps. We still keep hand sanitising, we keep our classrooms clean by ensuring all table tops are cleaned off and we still encourage drop off for self-management and independence. I certainly hope the last week for you went as well as it could.

Unfortunately, it has had an impact on one of the events we had organised – Beach Day at Orewa Beach. The decision to BRING the Beach day back to Wainui was not made lightly as a lot of work had gone into the organisation of the return of this tradition by Year 8 Bella Browne Hale. Thank you Bella !!

So Beach Day “WAINUI” with the House team-building games, Kelly Sports, the picnic lunch, the BBQ, juicies and baking for sale will be brought back to school. Beach Day “Wainui” will run from 10:30am – 2:00pm. It will follow the Powhiri to welcome new families and teachers.

  • Wear house colours
  • Bring your togs
  • Bring money for a sausage, juicie or baking – all items $2
  • Bring sunscreen!!!

Please see the following timetable for the day:

  9:15am – Pōwhiri
10:10am – Break starts
10:30am – Break ends and everyone goes down to the hall
10:40am – Rotation 1 starts
11:10am – Rotation 2 starts
11:45am – Break starts and barbecue
12:30pm – Break ends and rotation 3 starts
  1:05pm – Rotation 4 starts
  1:40pm  – Break starts
  2:05pm – Break ends
