BIKEATHON POSTPONED – NEW DATE THURSDAY 14 APRIL

Wow, check out all our fantastic supporters! Thank you to everyone who has peddled over to our Raise It page to donate and make this fundraiser a success and most importantly heaps of fun for our children. We have 83% students signed up and raised over $21,000!!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

Don’t forget about our wonderful prizes up for grabs – check these out on the Raise It prize page, the baskets were made possible by our long-time wonderful major sponsor Simone du Bernard from Harcourts Cooper & Co. Along with our amazing Gold Sponsor Build2 (The Ritchie Family) for the donation of the $500 Torpedo 7 voucher up for grabs!!  We also have a number of spot prizes to be handed out on the day.

Any child that doesn’t have access to a bike or scooter please let the office know as we will have a few bikes and scooters available to borrow on the day, there are also helmets.

Food is available on pre order – sausage in bread $2, juicie $2 and cake/slice $1 or a combo $5. These can be placed with your child’s teacher. We DO have a limited number of gluten free sausages, gluten free cakes/slices and vegan sausages available. Please ensure you clearly specify on your pre order. Food and drinks will be available all day for visitors and during breaks for the children.The Harcourts Coffee and Cone van will be here all day serving up wonderful coffee, hot chocolates and ice cream YUUUUM.

Get your hands on an awesomely amazing Easter basket. Lots of Easter yummies to be won!! Raffle tickets will be $2 each or 3 for $5.

We hope the weather person has it wrong and the rain stays away! So far it looks good. On the day bikes/scooters and helmets are to be dropped off and taken under the hall. We have attached a copy of the timetable of the day’s events. Please let the FOWS team or the office know if your child is at home in isolation for the event and we will put aside some spot prizes for their return. IF they are doing something at home on the day, please send us photos!

We can’t wait to have families and friends back onto school grounds and having a great time (following the Schools Health and Safety guidelines and the Parent Code of Conduct is adhered to, to ensure the safety of all our children, staff and visitors).

Vaccination

  • We no longer require proof of vaccination

Face Masks

  • Masks are to be worn by parents and teachers when in the vicinity of children

  • Masks are not required when riding a bike (teachers)

Physical Distancing

  • Physical distancing should be observed where practicable – 1m

  • Hygiene practices should be observed before and after using shared equipment – bikes and helmets (use of disinfectant spray on hand grips)

Non-curriculum related event

  • Bike-a-thon can go ahead as it is held outdoors

  • Timetable is staggered throughout the day, minimising crossover between students, teachers, and parents

  • Parents can attend the event but must stay outside, should wear a mask when in the vicinity of children, and should comply with any reasonable request made by staff

Food

  • Food should be eaten outside during the Bike-a-thon wherever practicable

N.B.  Toilets for parents to use will be the ones in the Hall.
