FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Kia ora Koutou,

Have you recovered from that amazing win on Saturday night?? The Black Ferns were just stunning, motivating, bringing a smile to everyone!! Sport lifts us, sport brings us together, sport brings us joy!! Those dreams and goals are attainable with resilience, perseverance and a great attitude!! As we move into our summer sports and anticipate the annual Athletic Days it is just wonderful to see children everywhere enjoying the outdoors, developing skills of jumping, throwing, running, the skills of touch rugby we have 7 teams, summer basketball and netball and of course cricket. At camp we had children excel in sports such as Archery and air rifles, there is something for everyone!!

Summer is here!! The shorts and jandals are back!! (Don’t forget the sunscreen and the hat!!)

Group Day –

I want to personally thank teacher Kylie Allen and FOWS member Nikki Browne for the amazing organisation, support, enthusiasm and the time they put into ensuring Wainui School was represented at Group Day in such a positive way. Even though we had a smaller group of children than usual as it clashed with the last day of camp, all the children that competed were amazing!! Well done to all those who competed!

FINALLY

Religious Education Consultation – Every few years the Board needs  to reconsult the community on whether families wish religious education to be offered. In the past this was offered at Wainui School. This ceased after consultation and the current programme running out. Please click on to our simple survey here to enable us to gather your views, thank you.

Ka kite ano,

So far this year that elusive win has been avoiding us, but we know that a win is just around the corner. These boys show huge determination, a never give up attitude and they always display their Wainui 5Rs. This photo was taken last Wednesday night when it was absolutely hammering down and as you can see the boys are drenched. Unfortunately we had a lot of sickness that week, so the whole team is not in this photo, however we will update you in a few weeks with the team’s progress and hopefully have a photo of the whole team celebrating their first win! We would also like to give a huge thank you to Mr Cochrane for giving up his time to coach our team!
